Chess lessons are held one-on-one through Skype. We use a feature in Skype called "screen sharing" which allows our students to see and hear us instructing interactively using Chessbase on our computer screen. Our student needs to have enough time to think and check his/her own ideas with the coach. Lessons are carefully planned for different segments of the game like opening repertoire, calculation, evaluation of the position, planning and endings.

Beginner level:

  • basic chess principles
  • basic endgames
  • basic combinations
  • pointing out the main mistakes in student's games
  • how to avoid simple blunders
  • the student is going to be learned to apply the methodical way of working on his own

Intermediate level:

  • chess strategy
  • more complex endgames
  • chess tactics
  • building up the basic opening
  • repertoire
  • basic concepts of psychology

Advanced level:

  • complex chess strategy
  • work on the theory of chess openings
  • complex tactical variations
  • modern approach to chess (the right way of using chess bases and computers)
  • advance aspects of psychology

We offer two different training programs:

  • competitive
  • non-competitive

Competitive chess program is designed for dedicated students who have enough time to practice chess on daily basis and participate in chess tournaments regularly. For those students we provide the homework on weekly basis and prepare them for the competitions.

Non-competitive chess program is designed for students who don't have enough time to work on chess regularly and/or solve homework. This program should evolve or rekindle the passion for chess.

Group lessons are also possible.

Study Material

Each student receives material for homework that helps him/her learn faster. We provide adequate homework, chess game analysis and recommend good chess books - basically everything a student needs in order to take their game to the next level.

Analysis of Tournament games

The most important segment for improvement are analysis of the tournament games, so we suggest that every student should notate their tournament games and send them to us before the lesson. Based on these analysis, we provide suggestions on how to specifically improve in order to get better results in the future.

Feedback and Suggestions

We send regular feedback and reports. These include a personalized training program, reports on the student's performance during chess training sessions and various suggestions for improvements.

The current rates are:

  • $25 per hour for competitive program
  • $20 per hour for non-competitive program

We accept various forms of payment. Contact us for details. We also provide detailed preparation work for tournaments. The cost is negotiable.
